Westover Vets Ltd describes itself as an independent, vet-owned small animal hospital providing care since 1896. Based on its own service list and recent owner accounts, it appears set up for both routine work and more involved cases: the website mentions advanced diagnostics, complex surgeries, and 24-hour inpatient support, and reviews reference cat spays and a dog paw injury that required stitches after an emergency appointment. Recent reviewers also mention consults that didn’t feel rushed (one first-time cat visit) and that the team “sorted out” treatment and dispensed medication. One negative review raises a specific concern about an emergency euthanasia visit, where a pain-relief injection left the cat unresponsive before the owners could say goodbye.

We've been with Westover for years and couldn't be happier. We travel 45 minutes for each appointment, often for our aging dog, and the long drive is always worth it. The team treats us and our dog with the utmost care, like we're part of their family. On top of the fantastic service, their prices are very fair. We highly recommend Westover to anyone looking for a friendly, caring, and professional veterinary clinic.

In December last year, we had to take our cat Lucky to the emergency vet in North Walsham after he suddenly lost the use of his back legs. The situation was so sudden that we needed immediate help. The vets informed us that Lucky was in pain and that nothing could be done, so we faced the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep. Since everything happened so quickly, we wanted to say goodbye to him. The vet asked if he should receive an injection for pain relief. Of course, we agreed, wanting him to be as comfortable as possible. However, after the injection, Lucky became completely unresponsive. The brief time we had to say our farewells turned into a very painful experience, as we felt we couldn’t truly say goodbye. We left feeling extremely disappointed. I can’t help but have a lingering suspicion that the sedation may have been recommended for financial reasons, though I cannot know for sure. Regardless, the result—the way the pain relief affected our ability to spend those last moments with him—was heartbreaking. This review is written out of that disappointment.

I had a really positive experience with Westover Vets when I took my two cats to be spayed. From start to finish, the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. They made me feel at ease and took great care in explaining the process and what to expect. Both of my cats were very well looked after, and I felt reassured knowing they were in safe hands. It’s clear the whole team genuinely care about the animals they treat. Thank you to everyone at Westover – I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you!

Our 6 month old Labrador Rudy had an accident and managed to cut his paw quite deep and being on holiday we needed to see a vet as soon as possible, one visit as an emergency appointment and then a quick surgery to have stitches on both occasions everyone that looked after him were so helpful and caring less than a week after he’s healing nicely wish that all vets were this good
